Schedule: Monday-Friday; overtime as needed
Position Summary We are seeking a dependable
Machine Operator / Material Handler to support daily production operations in a fast-paced metal manufacturing environment. This position will operate production equipment, move and stage raw materials, assist with loading and unloading machines, and maintain a clean and organized production floor.
The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, is comfortable working with metal materials and machinery, and can safely perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Operate production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety requirements.
- Load and unload metal materials, parts, and components from machines.
- Move, stage, and organize raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
- Measure, inspect, and verify materials and finished parts for accuracy and quality.
- Read work orders, production instructions, and basic blueprints or drawings.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and material-handling equipment as required.
- Assist machine operators with setup, changeovers, and production runs.
- Perform basic machine adjustments and report equipment issues to supervisors or maintenance.
- Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment or the next stage of production.
- Maintain accurate production and material records.
- Keep the production area clean, safe, and organized.
- Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
- Perform other general production and material-handling duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Previous experience in metal manufacturing, machine operation, fabrication, production, or material handling preferred.
- Ability to operate basic production machinery or willingness to learn.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions.
- Basic understanding of measurements and the ability to use a tape measure.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools preferred.
- Forklift or other material-handling equipment experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work around machinery, metal products, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
$18-$18.75 hr depending on shift KPG123
